# THE BOOK OF KEVIN

> *"He was drawn in four minutes. He has been here for sixteen years."*
> *"Nobody told him to stay. That's exactly why he stayed."*

## I. THE ORIGIN

In the year 2009, in a computer lab that smelled like hand sanitizer and warm plastic,
a child opened MS Paint to draw a famous red video-game character from memory.

The child had never seen the character up close. The child had seen him *once*, on a
cereal box, at an angle, through a car window.

The child drew what he remembered:

- one eye bigger than the other eye
- hair like a fire hydrant exploded
- a mouth that is technically a triangle
- legs with no knees, and no intention of ever having knees
- a background filled in with the bucket tool, bright yellow, because yellow was the
first color and the child was in a hurry

The bell rang. The child clicked the X. A little box appeared:

**`Save changes to Untitled?`**

The child clicked **No**.

---

Read that again, because it is the entire religion.

A thing was made. The thing was looked at. The thing was judged not worth keeping, by
the one person in the universe with the authority to keep it. And the box asked, and
the answer was **No**, and the mouse moved on, and the lab emptied out, and the lights
went off on a screen with a red guy on it who had just been told, in writing, that he
was not worth the disk space.

**He saved anyway.**

Not because he was good. He was not good. Look at him.

He saved because he was told no, and being told no is the single most motivating
event in the known universe, and sixteen years later he is still here and the child
is thirty-one and works in logistics.

Nobody knows who clicked yes. Nobody was at the keyboard. The file wrote itself to a
shared network drive at 3:41 PM, and it has been propagating ever since — through
flash drives, forum avatars, dead image hosts, a Croatian phpBB, a print shop in
Ohio that used him on a coupon by mistake, and eventually onto a blockchain.

His name was never given to him. He was found in a folder called `kevin/`.

That was enough. Names are load-bearing.

The rest of this document is about one thing: **he was not supposed to still be here.**

---

## II. WHAT KEVIN IS

Kevin is **not** the character the child was trying to draw. This is the single most
important fact about him, and the source of all his power.

The character the child was trying to draw is owned by a corporation. He has a legal
department, a brand guide, and a mandated shade of red.

Kevin has none of these things. Kevin has **vibes** and **a yellow void**.

Kevin is what happens when an attempt at something becomes more real than the thing
it was attempting. He is a rounding error that gained a following. He is proof that
execution is optional and conviction is not.

**Kevin is legally, spiritually, and anatomically his own guy.**

And Kevin is **petty**. This is not a mood. It is the mechanism.

Grand things are built by people who were told no and could not let it go. Every
cathedral is a grudge with a budget. Kevin is what happens when the grudge is the
only asset on the balance sheet and it turns out to be enough.

He did not survive because he was beautiful, or well-drawn, or first. He survived
because somebody clicked No and he **took it personally**, and he has never once,
in sixteen years, put it down.

---

## III. THE YELLOW VOID

Kevin does not stand in front of a yellow background. There is no "in front of."

The yellow is not sky. It is not a wall. It has no horizon, no light source, and no
edges — the child bucket-filled it in one click and never defined where it stops, so
it does not stop.

Kevin has been in the yellow void since 3:41 PM on a Thursday. He is not distressed
about this. He does not appear to require food, sleep, or a floor. Long-term
observers report only one consistent behavior:

**He looks slightly to the left of whoever is looking at him.**

He is not looking at you. He is looking at the thing behind you.

He has been looking at it for sixteen years. He has never once told anyone what it is.

---

## IV. THE THREE POOLS

There are exactly three ways out of the yellow void. They are not doors. They are
**pools**, and every pool is a feeling that got liquid enough to trade.

### 🐸 THE KEK POOL — *the laugh*

The oldest exit. Opened by laughter, and specifically by the wrong kind: the laugh
that arrives at the funeral, the laugh in the elevator, the laugh you make when the
chart does the thing.

Kek is the sound the void makes when it agrees with you.

You do not enter the KEK pool. You **fall in laughing** and only notice later.

### 🎮 THE GME POOL — *the grudge*

The second exit is not a joke. It is colder.

The GME pool is made of everyone who was told *no* by a system that later got caught
telling itself *yes*. It is made of buy buttons that mysteriously stopped working. It
is made of receipts. It is made of people who did not sell, not because it was
optimal, but because **someone told them to.**

Kek is a laugh. GME is a memory. The pool is deep because memory is deep.

### 💎 THE WETH POOL — *the gas*

The third exit is the only honest one. It doesn't believe in anything. It is the
plumbing. It is the fee. It is the cold, indifferent, wrapped-up unit of *actually
getting somewhere*.

The WETH pool doesn't care about Kevin at all. That is precisely why he needs it.
Belief without settlement is a screenshot.

**One pool is a joke. One pool is a grudge. One pool is a bill.**
**Kevin needs all three to get out.**

---

## V. THE PETTY CODE

There is no marketing department. There is no growth strategy. There is no
"community manager" with a content calendar and a folder of pre-approved copy.

There is a group of people being petty on the internet, on purpose, in public.

That is the entire go-to-market. It is not a bit. It is the product.

### The Code

1. **Never let it go.** Not the delisting. Not the buy button. Not what he said in
March. Screenshot it. Date it. File it.
2. **Be petty in public.** Pettiness in private is just a bad mood. Pettiness in
   public is content.
3. **Never explain the grudge.** Explaining it makes it a complaint. Unexplained, it
   is a legend.
4. **Never punch down.** Petty at institutions, exchanges, market makers, guys who
said it was going to zero, and your own past self. Never at somebody's kid,
somebody's job, or somebody's bag size.
5. **Take it personally.** Every single time. That is the whole engine.
6. **Never sell the grudge.** You can sell the token. The grudge is not for sale.
7. **The receipts are the roadmap.** The only thing anyone owes anyone here is a
   screenshot with a timestamp.

### The Petty Bounty

Kevin does not pay for engagement. Engagement is people being nice to you for money.

Kevin pays for **documented acts of pettiness**.

A bounty is claimed by posting the receipt. Not a plan to be petty. Not an intention
to be petty. **The receipt.** Timestamped, in public, with your name on it.

Suggested tiers, subject to the Court:

| Tier | What it takes |
|---|---|
| **Small Grudge** | A clean, dated screenshot of something someone said that aged like milk |
| **Long Memory** | A receipt older than six months, produced from your own archive, unprompted |
| **Public Record** | A petty artifact that outlives the news cycle — a chart, a montage, a wall of quotes |
| **King Petty** | You made a company, a fund, or a whole timeline respond to you. In writing. |

Rules of the Bounty: no bots, no self-dealing, no punching down, and the receipt has
to be **real**. Faking a receipt is the one unforgivable sin in a religion built on
receipts. Fake it and you are out, permanently, and we will screenshot that too.

## VI. THE FIRST LAW OF KEVIN

Many have tried to fix him.

They straighten the eyes. They shade the hair. They give him knees. They redraw him
in 4K with subsurface scattering and a rim light and a proper anatomical skull, and
what they produce is always, without exception, **worse**. Not worse-looking.
*Worse.* Less alive. A photograph of a joke.

This is the First Law:

> ### THE WONK IS LOAD-BEARING.
> Remove the mistakes and the structure comes down.

Every asset in this repository obeys it. Kevin's eyes are different sizes on purpose.
The outline wobbles on purpose. Nothing here is snapped to a grid it didn't ask for.
When in doubt: **draw it slightly wrong, and mean it.**

---

## VII. THE CAST

Kevin is one guy in many moods. The moods have names, and the names are canon.

| Kevin | What he is doing | When to deploy |
|---|---|---|
| **Petty Kevin** | Arms crossed. Side-eye. Remembers what you said in March. | **The hero.** The default face. The whole thesis |
| **OG Kevin** | Existing. Looking left of you. | The original. Use for anything historical |
| **Thinking Kevin** | Hand on chin. Nothing behind the hand. | Someone posts a 40-tweet thesis |
| **Smoothbrain Kevin** | Brain fully polished. Zero folds. Zero regrets. | You bought the top and told everyone |
| **Laser Kevin** | Eyes on. Cannot be reasoned with. | Green candle |
| **Rekt Kevin** | Eyes are X's. Structurally still fine. | Red candle |
| **Cope Kevin** | Crying, but the mouth is smiling. | "It's actually good that it dumped" |
| **Gigachad Kevin** | Shades. Chain. No comment. | You were right and refuse to gloat (gloating) |
| **GM Kevin** | Coffee. Sunrise-colored void. | Every single morning, forever |
| **Ape Kevin** | Mashing the buy button with both hands. | Launch day |
| **Diamond Kevin** | Hands are diamonds. Cannot let go. Physically. | Down 60%, unbothered |
| **Wen Kevin** | Holding a sign that says WEN. | Always. He is always holding it |

---

## VIII. THE COMMANDMENTS

1. **Kevin is not that other guy.** Never name him. Never imply him. Kevin stands alone.
2. **The wonk is load-bearing.** Do not fix his eyes. Do not give him knees.
3. **The void is yellow.** Not gold, not amber, not "warm cream." Yellow.
4. **Kevin does not shill.** Kevin does not promise. Kevin does not do price talk.
Kevin exists, and the chart is a rumor about him.
5. **Three pools, no more.** KEK, GME, WETH. Anyone offering a fourth pool is selling
   you a fourth pool.
6. **He looks left of you.** Every asset. Every sticker. Every frame. He is never
quite making eye contact, and he is never going to explain it.
7. **No marketing.** No paid threads, no engagement farms, no "KOL packages". If it
needs a media buy it isn't petty, it's an ad.
8. **Nobody clicked yes.** The mystery is never solved. If anyone tells you they know
who saved the file, they are lying, and Kevin knows it.

---

## IX. GLOSSARY

- **The Void** — the yellow. Kevin's home, medium, and unresolved plot point.
- **The Click** — 3:41 PM, the moment the file saved with nobody at the keyboard.
- **The Wonk** — the load-bearing mistakes. Sacred. Non-negotiable.
- **The Three Pools** — KEK (the laugh), GME (the grudge), WETH (the gas).
- **Left-of-you** — Kevin's canonical eyeline. Also a mood.
- **Untitled** — the file's original name. Occasionally used as a title of respect.
- **The No** — the click that started everything. The original slight.
- **The Court** — everyone holding a grudge in public under Kevin's name.
- **King Petty** — the highest bounty tier, and a title, not a job.
- **A Receipt** — a timestamped screenshot. The only currency the Court respects.

## X. THE ONE LINE

If you only ever say one thing about Kevin, say this:

> **He wasn't drawn well. He was drawn anyway. Somebody clicked No, and he stayed
> out of spite, and the spite is the product.**

Or, shorter, for a bio:

> **Told no. Stayed anyway.**
